The MMR will wear the crucifix with the image of the Crucified Lord Jesus embracing his mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, from the cross. In his mother, Jesus Christ embraces all those who turn to him, drawing them into one love, that breaks all barriers of unjust prejudices and discriminations

INTRODUCTION:

"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold the new one has come." (2 Cor; 5:17).

Many of us are worried about the prevalence and radicalization of sectional and ethnic prejudice and discrimination in Nigeria and in most parts of Africa. In spite of the continued growth of Christianity in this part of the world and the progress that has been made in modern education and statehood, the problem appears not to decrease. On the contrary , the ill has found its way into the Church. The presence of this situation among Catholics is unacceptable, since by its name, which means “universal”, the Catholic Church cannot allow itself to be tied down to sectional, ethnic or parochial sentiments in the execution of its mission. The need to address these problems could not be more urgent. The foundation of the Marian Missionaries ad Regnum Dei wishes to respond to it. The response is aimed primarily at a problem and need that are present in the Church in Nigeria as well as in Africa, but it is not difficult to see its universal relevance and possible outreach with regard to the persistence of racial prejudice and discrimination in various parts of the world.
